#23 I was on a roll

I ran on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but then I skipped Saturday, Sunday and Monday. At least I did a lot of meditation on Sunday, so that helps. I hope to get back to running tomorrow morning.

I had an amazing experience on my motorcycle today. It had rained earlier and there were a few puddles on the road. I slowed down to creep through one carefully, but a big SUV coming the other way plowed right through a huge puddle and absolutely soaked me. If felt like someone threw a whole swimming pool of water in my face. I was completely soaked to the skin. Fortunately I maintained control and didn't go down. I was just a few miles form home, so I continued on home and changed into dry clothes. That was quite an experience.

#22 Three days in a row

...Well, not of blogging, but at least of running. I ran on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (Today), which is a good accomplishment. To be honest, I have not run yet, but I am in my running clothes and don't expect anything to stop me now.

I do have to keep to a schedule, so I can make it to the conference center by 9 a.m., when I am meeting friends helping me plan a weekend retreat there in September. I should be able to do that since it is only 6:45 now.

I have a little sore throat this morning, which I hope is nothing significant. I am drinking some echnnacea tea this morning, which should clear it up. On Tuesday I switched medicines for my diabetes, from Byetta to Januvia. I hope this is not a side-effect of that. Probably not. Anyway, I figured mentioning it here would give me a place to look back later.

Yesterday I went to a meeting of the National Coalition Building Institute for both my college and a neighboring college. The regional approach is exciting. I am proud to be affiliated with that group.

Today I need to devote a lot of work to finishing the second edition of my textbook http://www.amazon.com/Elements-News-Writing-James-Kershner/dp/0205386512

#21 Not Every Day

I would like to post to this blog every day, and I would like to run and meditate every day, but I have not been perfect at any of them. Fortunately I did all three today, so I can feel good about that. Even though I overslept, I decided I really needed that run, so i did my regular 2.5-mile loop to the lake and back in about 25 minutes. Then I sat in the sun and meditated for about 10 minutes.
I have been worried about a friend in the hospital and a car in the shop and an Aug. 1 deadline for the second edition of my textbook. But I made a little progress on all three today, so I guess that is all I can ask for. A friend is driving me to the repair shop tomorrow to pick up the car. All is well.

#20 Still running after all thse years

I have been running on and off lately. On the Fourth of July I did a great 45-minute run. This last Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, I ran for 25 minutes each morning. I got lazy Friday, but today is Saturday and I am about to go out again. I always feel much better after I run.
